The CT 990 is an IP67 certified VHF that allows it to be used in extreme weather conditions as it is protected from dust and water up to a depth of one meter for 30 minutes. Its large color display allows great readability thanks to the TFT liquid crystal technology.

The EB version has an increased battery of 3600mAh which is equivalent to about 30% more capacity and consequently longer duration. The previous model lasted around 16 hours, with the increased battery around 21 hours.

The CT 990 EB like its predecessor has a power of 10W and guarantees superior radio coverage performance compared to other devices of the same amateur family that typically transmit at 5W.
